Our mission
Warmth
We aim to bring warmth to every interaction with our patrons--be it through the warmth of a new coat or that of an embrace. Even better: both!
Hope
We recognize that meaningful interactions can make the difference between receiving resources and being empowered by them. We aim to empower our patrons.
Dignity
Every human deserves dignity. An essential part of living is both giving and receiving help from your community. No one should feel shame for accepting the help of others.

"As a teenager, I cannot solve poverty Alone, But I can do My Best to make it more comfortable and dignified" - Grace "LuLu" Reid-Vensel (2022)
WHy LuLU's?
Seeing the financial and social effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in her own community, then 16 year-old Grace "LuLu" Reid-Vensel wanted to bring light to her community through creating a mutual aid initiative that provides free access to clothing, necessities, and comfort objects--such as toys or books.
She named it "LuLu's Free Store" after her childhood nickname which, to her, signifies the hope and child-like warmth she wishes to provide to the community.
